Activities / 75th year of Independence

 

Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar was in a festive mood from 11th August to 16th August 2022 as it celebrated India’s 75th Independence Day with a variety of programmes. Students of std III to XII engaged in flag, charka and cannon making during the house activity period. On 11th August patriotic song and elocution were conducted. Adripath of Std III played National Anthem on key board.

On 12th August,Malayalam poem on Gandhi was recited by Niranjana Menon of std viii . To instill love for nation a procession was held inside the school campus wherein students rendered patriotic song and a video on war memorial was shown during house activity period.

On 13th the students and the teachers displayed the National flag at their homes. Students, teachers and PTA members joined the function on 15 August which saw the hoisting of the national flag by the Principal Smt. Kalyani N P. It was followed by the NCC parade. Ashneel Surendran of Std V played ‘Sare jahan se acha’ on the key board.

The school campus erupted in sheer joy as students sang the song ‘Sare jahan se acha’ along with the music teacher Sri. Harikrishnan. Ms.Ashmi M R of Social Science Dept gave the Independence Day message. Bhadra Shivan of Std II narrated a story from the life of Mahatma Gandhi followed by a depiction of a history of the Indian flag. A Patriotic song and dance on freedom struggle wereDhanushma of Std XII performed a declamation as the mighty warrior queen, Jhansi Rani. In order to instil in the students an awareness about our struggle for freedom, the unsung heroes of freedom movement were introduced through a short play which was followed by a skit which evoked nationalism in the hearts of all spectators.

 

 

The programmes drew to a close with a grand procession with AR Rahman’s Vande Mataram bringing out true patriotic fervour among one and all. A short film on patriotism was shown in classes. On 16th around 500 students will participate ‘Azadi ka Amrit Geeth’ , a grand virtual national rendition. The school will also conduct a quiz, debate, and essay writing competitions based on Indian Independence.
